    The Pine-Richland School Board is welcoming a new director to the team. Mrs. Katarzyna (Kasia) Swope was sworn in on December 19, 2020, by solicitor Don Palmer. In addition, the board swore in five other directors in December, plus other board news.

  • Join Us for Parent Workshop on Stress & Anxiety

    Join expert Joni Sturgill 6-8 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2020, as she discusses the impact of stress on the brain and nervous system and offers evidence-based coping practices and the attention-building practices of mindfulness and deep breathing. Participants will be able to apply these best practices within their own families. There will be an opportunity for questions/discussion. The session will be held in the PRHS Auditorium.

  • Important Safety & Security Procedures & Initiatives

    The topic of safety and security is critical to the mission of PRSD. As a district, we take a comprehensive view of school safety with attention given to multiple areas (e.g., building security, personnel, law enforcement, mental health, technology, law, curriculum, reporting, communication, and general measures). Safety experts recommend that school organizations refrain from describing specific emergency plans in a public forum. Consistent with those recommendations, we will highlight procedures and protocols at a high level.

    After 44 years with the Northern Regional Police Department, Northern Regional Police Chief T. Robert Amann is retiring after 44 years. He was hired in 1976 and served as a patrolman through 1989. After that, he was promoted to police chief.

  • Students Educate Peers in Mead Hall Celebration

    Students in Teacher Jennifer Fink’s Honors English 12 class celebrated Mead Hall Day on Oct. 12, 2019. “The students study the Anglo-Saxon unit,” explained Ms. Fink. “During this unit, we learned the importance of the mead hall as the community center where the thanes (important warriors) and the king met for important meetings, feasts, and celebrations.”

    Pine-Richland School District sets aside time in November for families to have the opportunity to have face-to-face conferences with teachers. As you know, these one-to-one sessions can be a powerful opportunity to have a direct discussion about your child's progress and performance.   • School Board Earns Outstanding Innovation Award

    The Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) honored outstanding recipients of the Pennsylvania Education Innovation Awards at the PA Association of School Administrators-PSBA School Leadership Conference at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center on October 16, 2019. The Pine-Richland School Board was the only school board out of three groups to receive the award.
