This communication is being sent to anyone who was planning to attend one of the upcoming Pine-Richland High School musical performances.
All upcoming performances scheduled for March 13, 14, 20, and 21 are postponed.
As we have shared in all previous communications, district administrators have been in constant contact with Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) doctors and scientists in establishing best practices and throughout the decision making process. In addition, we are referencing guidance information from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention.
The countless hours dedicated to preparing for these performances by students, staff, and parents are significant. This decision was based upon the ongoing communications with health professionals and the most current guidance from ACHD, CDC, and other local agencies. Additionally, Governor Tom Wolf and members of the PA Department of Health have recommended that all large group gatherings (over 250 people) postpone these events for at least 14 days effective Friday, March 13.
Please understand that all decisions are made out of concern for the health and safety of our students, staff, and families. Plans to reschedule the musical will be shared through a future communication.
