Board Approves Advertisement of  Proposed General Fund Budget
 
The Pine-Richland Board of School Directors approved the advertisement of the proposed final general fund budget for the 2021-2022 school year at the meeting to be held at 7 p.m. on May 3, 2021, in the DeWitt Blank Board Room, 702 Warrendale Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044.
 
The Proposed Final General Fund Budget includes total expenditures of $95,958,177 and total revenues of $94,712,288 with the utilization of the assigned fund balance for capital improvements in the amount of $1,245,889.
 
The Proposed Final General Fund Budget includes an estimated tax millage rate of 19.5867 mills. This represents a flat millage rate from the current fiscal year. The budget vote does not formally approve the final budget or the tax rate. It allows the school district to advertise the general fund budget and place it on public display via the Pine-Richland School District budget website, the district administration office, and at the Northern Tier Library until final adoption on June 7, 2021. 
School Board Swears in New Director
 
The Pine-Richland School Board swore in newly appointed director Amy Hayden on May 3, 2021, during the school board planning meeting. She was appointed on April 27, 2021, by the board, during a special meeting. Ms. Hayden, whose term will run through December 2021, previously served seven years on the Brentwood School Board.
 
Currently, she is a post-award administrator at the University of Pittsburgh in which she uses her accounting expertise to apply to post-award requirements pertaining to sponsored research. Previously, Ms. Hayden worked for BNY Mellon from 2012-2019.
 
Ms. Hayden, her husband, and their children live in Wexford.
