Pine-Richland’s Touchdown Club, cheerleaders and marching band came together Friday to honor a teenager who passed away this summer, donating over $3,500 to his family.

Christian Scott was a 15-year-old rising sophomore football player at Pickerington North High School who tragically drowned in July. Christian, who wore number 19 for the Panthers, had a passion for football, sports and life. In addition to playing on the defensive line, Christin was also a starter for the Panther’s varsity basketball team. 

The Pine-Richland Touchdown Club organized a tribute to Christian to honor his memory during Game Zero on August 26, 2022. 

All players were given a wristband with Christian’s number to wear throughout the game. PA announcer Michael Young read a tribute to Christian and held a moment of silence prior to the start of the game and noted that all proceeds of the 50/50 raffle would go to Christian’s mother. Cheerleaders donated a portion of proceeds from their concession sale, marching band made a donation, and the winner of the 50/50 donated $1,000 back, for a grand total of $3,535. 

Kristin Hasley, Pine-Richland Touchdown Club President, presented a check after the game to Pickerington North’s Athletic Director Colin Beemiller.
