More than 30 Pine-Richland elementary students entered the Sodexo Future Chefs Challenge earlier this year. Six finalists were named, and on March 8, came together at Eden Hall Upper Elementary to prepare their dishes for district judges.
More than 30 Pine-Richland elementary students entered the Sodexo Future Chefs Challenge earlier this year. Six finalists were named, and on March 8, came together at Eden Hall Upper Elementary to prepare their dishes for district judges. Our finalists included:

Veggie Volcano - George M., Eden Hall (2nd place)
Pineapple Upside Down Stuffing - Nabha N., Wexford Elementary (3rd place)
Veggie Pucks (Broccoli Corn Tikkis) - Claire S., Wexford Elementary
Claire's Cheesy Cauliflower Casserole - Isaac K., Richland Elementary
Black Bean and Corn Salad - Sophia B., Wexford Elementary

As the first place winner, Michael's recipe for Veggie Volcano moves on to regional judging. Five finalists will be named for national judging, and the ultimate winner will be announced in May.
The winning recipe, along with three additional student-created recipes from the contest, will be added to Sodexo school menus for the 2023-2024 school year.
