Senior Wins National Art Awards
Senior Noah Moskala was honored in the 100th Class of National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards with a Gold Medal as well as an American Visions Medal for “exceptional work in painting” for his painting Duality.
“It is great to see Noah's work pay off in such an amazing way,” said Pine-Richland High School art teacher Mr. Ramon Riley. “It is easy to cheer Noah's success because of the type of student, leader and person Noah has been each and every day.”
Mr. Riley was also honored with the Educator Award as “an outstanding educator whose dedication, commitment and guidance are represented by student work selected for national honors."
More than 100,000 students from the United States and Canada participated in the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious fine arts awards for students this year, submitting over 300,000 works of art and writing.
In February, Noah was recognized in the regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for Duality with a Gold Key Award and was also named the region’s American Visions Award nominee. Each region nominates five artists for either the American Voices Award or American Visions Award. One nominee from each region is selected for the national award.
Noah Moskala's painting will be on exhibit in New York City. Noah and Mr. Riley are invited to attend a ceremony with other award recipients at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 7.
