Pine-Richland Middle School eighth-grader Alexander Urling had the unique opportunity to participate in a program entitled “88 Keys for Pittsburgh” on October 27, 2018. The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra hosted the fundraising program. The PSO launched the campaign to raise $200,000 for a new grand piano for Heinz Hall.
The program was held at the Fort Pitt Piano Company in McCandless. Alexander and three other students from North Allegheny School District participated to play as a piano quartet playing eight hands on two pianos.
These pianists are the youngest performers featured at the PSO fundraising concert, which featured professional adult pianists.
