Dear Hance Families,
Recycle & Upcycle Fashion Walk
Register by May 1!
As part of our Earth Day celebrations, the Recycle and Upcycle Fashion Walk will be held on May 9, 2022.
This is a voluntary activity related to our green schools initiatives for the 2021-2022 school year. Students may work with parents at home to create a recycled fashion piece or take old clothing and "upcycle" it to feature in our environmentally friendly Fashion Walk on May 9. Clothing must be made at home and brought in to wear over top of clothing. If the clothing is upcycled, this may not be necessary (Ex: jeans with patches). The fashion show will be recorded and released for viewing at home with your child(ren)! Thank you for helping to support our sustainability!
Sign up here for your child to participate. The deadline to sign up for the Fashion Walk is Sunday, May 1.
Summer Read Aloud in the Hance Amphitheatre
All Students Invited!
Summer Read Alouds will be held in the amphitheater during the summer months. Books selected will be chosen based on our environmental and sustainability efforts as well as our building theme for 2022-2023 which will be revealed at the conclusion of this school year.
Rather than concerts in the park, think of this as a summer read aloud in the amphitheater. We are excited for you to experience our outdoor classroom space and amphitheater area that was funded by PROF and the Hance PTO. Dr. Kuzilla will be reading each of the books on the designated dates shown below.
Bring a blanket or a lawn chair while you and your parent (or guardian) listen to the story! After the story is over, feel free to use the outdoor classroom space or playground and get to know the building better if you will be new to Hance next year. This event is open to all families.
