Hance Elementary will be piloting a Junior Achievement Day for third grade this spring on May 16, 2019 from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
We are looking for a minimum of eight parent volunteers of third graders willing to come in to teach five lessons to our third grade classrooms. Each lesson lasts for 45 minutes. The commitment for this opportunity will also include one hour of training on Apr. 5, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at Hance Elementary for anyone who volunteers.
In order to help our third graders meet the PA College and Career Readiness standards, we will be utilizing the JA program titled “More than Money” as an additional opportunity for our students to learn more about money-management, earning, saving, and spending. Entrepreneurship is one area that we would like to bolster, and JA Day would be a great way to “enHance” our students experiences in learning about this critical topic.
