See Principal's Feb. 26 Message

Greetings RES Ram Families and Students,

Here we are at yet another Friday and weekend, and almost a new month! As we start to look to the 2021-2022 school year, I’d like to ask all K-2 parents to please complete this Google Form for Placement Input to provide input to your child’s next school year. The due date is March 31, but the sooner the better!
Thank you to the PTO for our virtual assembly on Tuesday, Feb. 23! We welcomed Cris Johnson into all of our classrooms and the PRVA classrooms. Talk with your child about the excitement of the assembly and a few things they learned about scientific principles!
Next week kicks off March, which is both Women’s History Month and National Reading Month. The first week of the month we will celebrate Read Across America, and we are excited! It is a great opportunity to celebrate many diverse authors and inspiring literature. Please see below for our spirit days, and click here to read more about the week from the National Education Association! In honor of Women’s History Month, if there is a woman of history or today that you would like us to highlight on the announcements as a role model for our students, don’t hesitate to send it to my email with a short blurb or quote! Title your email, “Women’s History Month”.
As we work through planning different activities to welcome our new students to RES through the redistricting process, we would love to include current and future Richland Elementary students. If your child would like to be a part of some school, after-school, or even summer activities to welcome our new friends or become a buddy for any of them, please fill out the information at this link by March 12, 2021. We will then reach out when we are ready to include your child in activities. Some of them may be virtual, others safely in person, depending on the conditions and health and safety restrictions at that time.
Thank you all for our continued partnership; you and your children make me PR Proud!
Ms. Jenna L. Sloan
