Dear RES Ram Families & Students,
Can you believe there are 11.5 school days left until summer? I know I can’t! Though it seems short, rest assured there will still be lessons and learning, smiles behind masks, recesses and laughter at lunch in the cafeteria. We also have some fun scheduled for the end of the year in order to celebrate the growth and successes that our students and staff have worked so hard for in the 2020-2021 school year! See below for dates and information.
Field Days
We will be holding field days for each grade level in June. Though they will be modified from the typical field days that Mr. Matteson puts together with many parent volunteers, we are hoping to make days of fun for our students and staff. In order to maintain the health and safety of everyone as we get closer to summer, there will be no spectators or visitors permitted. Please dress your child appropriately, to include sneakers, for their field day. Please send your child with a beach towel, if possible, as well as a personal water bottle.
  • Kindergarten - June 3 (no rain date)
  • 1st grade - June 2 - afternoon
  • 2nd grade - June 1 - afternoon
  • 3rd grade - June 1 - morning
3rd Grade Fun Day
In collaboration with our PTO, we will celebrate the end of the primary grades with our 3rd graders on June 7. We encourage your child to also wear sneakers this day as we will be on the field at the track. The PTO is providing a DJ that will remain at a distance from our students. We will have some activities, eat lunch outside, and students will receive their yearbooks for their friends and classmates to sign.
iPads & Charging Cords
Kindergarten Families: Please make sure the students have their iPads and charging cords with them on June 8 to turn in for the summer.
Grades 1, 2, 3, as of right now, you will be able to take your Chromebook home with you for summer learning!
Yearbook Shout Out!
I would like to give a special shoutout to PTO Yearbook Co-chairs Brittani Namey and Bethany Weakland for their commitment to a quality yearbook that celebrates the school year. Some of you may have viewed it this week, some of you may still want to order one, and some of you may be waiting until the 7th when 3rd graders receive their copy. No matter when you get to see it, I hope you see the labor of love that it is and commitment to preserving the special memories of the school year. It took a lot of collaboration between the co-chairs and teachers, staff and parents to make it happen! I know it made me proud of my first year at RES!
Thanks, as always, for your commitment to our students, building and community. Enjoy the last few weeks of school.
With PRide,
Ms. Jenna L. Sloan
