Get Ready for Back to School by Reading the Latest Principal Message

Dear RES Ram Families and Students,
Whenever I am anticipating an upcoming event with excitement, I tend to count “wake up days”. How many days do I need to wake up before that day or event is here? As you are reading this, assuming it is on the Friday that it was sent, we have four more "wake up days" until the first day of school. Some moments I wish there were more days, as it never seems enough time to get all of the details finalized; sometimes I wish it was less time, because I cannot wait until the building is filled with students again!

Here are a few final details that are helpful to get us started on Tuesday, August 31.
Car Rider Drop Off and Pick-Up Procedures

  • For those of you who were here last year, we will maintain the same traffic pattern and process. We will, however, move pick-up to 3:40 p.m. instead of the 3:30ish time we started last year. IF that needs to be adjusted based on the number of students riding in cars again, we are able to make that shift easily within our internal processes.
  • For those of you who are new or need a refresher, please click here to open up an aerial view of the building and parking lots, which will help you to see how that traffic pattern moves around the building safely. This only applies for drop off at 9 a.m. and and pick up at 3:40 p.m.
  • For kindergarten pick up at 12 p.m. and drop off at 1 p.m., you will follow the procedures communicated by your child’s kindergarten teacher.
  • How do we know who you are picking up? Please write your child’s first and last name in very large, bold print and hang this sign (click here) in your car in a place visible to one of our teachers or staff members who will then send the names in order of cars to a staff member who will be in the auditorium organizing the students in order to come to your vehicles.
  • If you are sending someone other than the people listed in Sapphire who are permitted to pick up your child, you MUST let the office and teacher know as well.
  • IF you need one of these car rider papers before Tuesday morning and do not have access to a printer, you can stop by the building between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. to pick one up. We will send them home with students on Tuesday as well.
  • Please complete this form here to let me know that you are planning on starting your child as a car rider. You must also email the front office (vhoffman@pinerichland.org and nmcchesney@pinerichland.org) and your child’s teacher to notify them. The form will give me a gauge of the number of car riders we can anticipate next week. Responses will be accepted until Monday, August 30, at 8pm.

Setting Up an Account with the Cafeteria

Click here to go to the district’s webpage that will give you the steps to set up an online account for your child’s meals. Meals are free through the USDA for the school year. There is more information available on our website regarding this program.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher, our front office, or me. We are excited to begin the journey of another school year and partner with you to offer the best educational experience possible.

With PRide,

Ms. Jenna L. Sloan
