See Principal's October 8 Message

Greetings RES Ram Families and Students,
We’ve had such a wonderful week this week! We had an awesome assembly on Monday in the afternoon. See pictures here. The Pittsburgh Zoo joined us with four friends: two box turtles, a Great Horned Owl and an African Python. Our PTO is working with the Pittsburgh Zoo to also get a presentation for our AM kindergarten class as they have time constraints with the animals that prevented us from doing one AM and one PM presentation this time. Stay tuned!
Halloween and Fall celebrations are being planned consistently across the K-3 buildings. Festivities to include parades and parties are being planned for Thursday, October 28. We will be collaborating with the PTO and enlisting their support. We will be providing more specifics about the event next week in the Friday Flash.
Proper fitting and cloth masks are recommended for school. Gaiters are not a desirable face covering as the CDC-approved mask is a cloth or medical-type face mask. Incorrect wearing, the need for repeated reminders to wear properly, and the use of any face covering other than a cloth or medical face mask could result in the need to quarantine from any setting throughout the school day. This includes the wearing of gaiters possibly causing the need to quarantine.
Thanks for all you are doing to support your learners at home! Our partnership is very important. Consider taking a moment with your child to write a note or even an email to their teachers to express gratitude for all they do for your kids and all kids. You’d be amazed at how far a simple notes goes to brighten someone’s day!
With PRide,
Ms. Sloan
