Dear RES Students and Families,

"Be the KIND Kid", "You Matter", "BElieve in YOUrself", "This School is Powered by Kindness", "The more you love yourself for what makes you unique, the more you can love others for what makes them different". These empowering words now serve as inspiration to all who enter Richland Elementary School with our new mural wall. It definitely serves as a source of both inspiration and pride for ALL who enter RES! Click the link here to view a brief video that shows some of the student reactions when they entered the building last Wednesday! I hope you all enjoyed seeing it during Open House this week.

We had the pleasure of welcoming members of our PRHS AFJROTC to our building this week for grade-level assemblies. Their message was to talk about veterans and gratitude. After a presentation in the auditorium, the cadets moved to the classrooms with the students where they worked on a letter that will be sent to a veteran to express appreciation for their service, as well as share a bit about the student. Click here if you would like to see a bit of their presentation and some pictures!

Please remember to use the approved educational trip form in Sapphire if your student will be absent for that purpose. The more advance notice that our teachers have, the more likely you will have work provided beforehand. This is different from typical absences that can be submitted in the system. Please remember that per PA State Attendance Laws, we are permitted to excuse 10 absences without an approved medical excuse.

As always, I thank you all for your continued partnership in the education of all of our RES Rams!

With Gratitude,

Ms. Jenna L. Sloan
Principal
