Richland Elementary School second-graders invited everyday heroes to their classrooms. Everyday heroes were invited to talk about what they do. Some of the people who visited included parents that held a myriad of jobs and included a biologist, stay-at-home mom, and an air quality expert just to name a few.
Students also participated in the annual Hero Parade by dressing up as a hero they created describing their most heroic quality. This all led up to the 10th Annual Pittsburgh Superhero Foundation 5K Run/Walk and 1K Family Run on April 28, 2018, which is a family event to raise funds and awareness to help prevent child abuse and aid abuse victims.
