Review Back-to-School Message

Welcome

Welcome to Richland Elementary School! For those of you who are returning to Richland, we are looking forward to another fantastic school year. We would also like to welcome our new students and parents to our school. We are confident that you will have a wonderful experience and be a part of our Richland family.

School Start Times

Beginning this fall, Pine-Richland has modified school start times at all levels. At Richland Elementary, students’ arrival will be from 9:00 – 9:15 a.m. If you drive your child to school, our car-rider entrance will be open and supervised during that arrival window. If you are late and arrive after 9:15 a.m., then please drive around to the front of the building, park in the lot, and escort your child into our main office.

The dismissal process will begin at 3:45 p.m. Parents who are picking up their child at the end of the day as a car-ride should send a note in the morning with their child stating the name of the student, the person picking up the student, and the student’s teacher. Parents who are picking up their child should arrive at door #20 between 3:40 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. School personnel will be on-site to greet parents as they arrive.

The recommendation to adjust school start times was approved during the February 11, 2019 school board meeting. To review the research and past communications related to this initiative, please visit our School Start Times Website.

Our School

Richland is home to approximately 450 students in kindergarten through third grade. Since Richland is the former high school, our building features a full-size gymnasium and auditorium. Additionally, our spacious grounds include a large playground area, nature trail, basketball and tennis courts, and a full-size track.

The most outstanding aspects of our school include our teachers, staff, students, and parents. Our teachers and staff are incredibly dedicated and work extremely hard to meet the unique needs of each and every student. Our parents are very involved and continuously seek opportunities to support our school. The students at Richland are outstanding, and we are proud of their achievements and their eagerness to learn.

Mission, Vision, & Values

At Richland Elementary School we strive each day to create a safe and challenging learning environment. The mission of the Pine-Richland School District is to focus on learning for every student every day. We are vested in providing our students with a strong academic foundation, and our vision is a picture developed by a student that captures the mission and provides a vivid reminder of the challenge and opportunity of our schools. Review more about our mission, vision, & values.

Important Dates in August

Building Visitation Day is Thursday, August 15, from 9-11 a.m. or 1-3 p.m., and it is designed to give students an opportunity to find the location of their classroom. Similar to previous years, staff members are not yet scheduled or required to be back at work. As a result, you might not see any teachers, and classroom doors will likely be locked. Remember, the purpose of this day is to ease students’ concerns if they are worried about finding the location of their classroom. This same approach has been consistent for several years across the primary schools.

Join us for Parent Night. Please note that this is a parent/guardian-only event. Each event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on the scheduled date below We look forward to seeing you!

Kindergarten: Tuesday, August 20
1st Grade: Monday, August 26
2nd Grade: Tuesday, August 27
3rd Grade: Wednesday, August 28
