Neighborhood Hosts Superhero 5K

Each year, Richland Elementary second-grade teachers host a hero unit every year that culminates with the whole grade (Richland) participating in the Superhero 5k at North Park put on by the Superhero Foundation/CASA.
Since the program couldn't happen this year, one neighborhood wasn't going to let anything stop the hero run. s going to still “run” the 5k.
Families in the Fairwinds neighborhood hosted a social-distancing version of the Superhero 5K. The neighborhood has 13 second-graders.  The families participated in the run on April 25.
The parents of Fairwind helped organize the run including Nicole Cugliari, who encouraged participants to begin at their own homes to maintain social distance.
"The route made its way from the Fairwinds Drive and looped all-around Willow Creek and Chad Court," said Mrs. Cugliari. "Students were encouraged to wear their cape or to make a costume."  Enjoy a video made by Mrs. Bethany Weakland:
