Review Athletic Health & Safety Plan

Dear Pine-Richland Parents and Guardians,

Pine-Richland School District values the learning experiences that occur for students both inside and outside of the classroom. Athletics and activities are two examples of the diverse opportunities that our students can explore. In an effort to begin to bring students back on campus, the Pine-Richland Athletics Department has developed a board approved health & safety plan. This plan will serve as the roadmap for our goal of returning to athletic and extracurricular activities and remaining at school and maintaining these activities in the healthiest manner possible.

This global pandemic has presented countless challenges but included in those challenges are opportunities. Through the guidance and recommendations from local, state, and federal health experts, we are preparing to enter into phase one (1) of reopening on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. This phase of the reopening process will be limited to fall varsity athletic teams to participate in voluntary conditioning.

Please view the following slideshow presentation along with the accompanying podcast. While it is not possible to eliminate all risk of furthering the spread of COVID-19, current guidelines suggest there are many steps schools can take to reduce the risks to students, coaches, and their families.  It is imperative these guidelines are strictly followed to the greatest extent possible to reduce the overall risk of infection and spread of COVID-19. Developing and following this plan is our effort to do so.

Please review the slideshow presentation (with speaker’s notes) and/or listen to the podcastAll participants, as well as parents and guardians, will be asked to electronically sign an acknowledgement and waiver form to indicate that they understand and agree to follow, to the best of their ability, the health and safety plan.

As we move closer to the start of fall practice and band camp (phase 2 of this plan), updated information will be provided.

We are so excited to see our students back on campus. Please reach out to your coach or me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Sean Simmon
Director of Athletics
