See "Appropriate Use" Information Regarding Smart Watches

While we do not restrict students from wearing smart watches throughout the school day as they can be used for telling time. However, students are not permitted to use them for email, messaging, nor making phone calls as they are then being used as a smart device/phone instead of just a watch.

If your child is found to be using any device inappropriately, the consequences may be:

  • 1st time - redirected by the teacher/staff member, parent notified of violation
  • 2nd time - redirected by the teacher/staff member, parent notified of violation, device removed from student and held in the office until the end of the day and device can be picked up by student
  • 3rd time - redirected by the teacher/staff member, parent notified of violation, device removed from student and held in the office until the end of the day and device must be picked up by the adult, possible restriction of the child being able to wear device to school in the future.

Please reinforce this with your child at home if they wear a device to school that could be used as a communication tool as well. Please remind all students of appropriate use of any device throughout the school day. Thank you for your support and emphasizing the focus on our learning environments here at school.
