School Board Approves Final Budget for 2017-2018

The Pine-Richland School Board approved the Final General Fund Budget for the 2017-2018 school year with total expenditures of $84,079,405 and total revenues of $84,079,405 with no utilization of assigned fund balance. 

Tax Rates for 2017-2018
The board established the following tax rates for the fiscal year 2017-2018: 
  • Real Estate Tax rate of 19.5867 mills (a 1.97% tax increase)
  • Earned Income Tax of 0.5%
  • Act 511 Per Capita Tax of $5 for individuals age 18 and older
  • Pennsylvania School Code Per Capita Tax of $5 for individuals age 18 and older

Real Estate Tax Reduction Resolution
The school board adopted the 2017 Homestead and Farmstead Exclusion Resolution to authorize a reduction in real estate tax assessments for approved homesteads and farmsteads for the school year beginning July 1. If you have a homestead or farmstead exclusion, you could save a maximum of $186.  For more details on the application process, visit the Allegheny County website.
