Learn More about Math Pathways

Math Pathways

While we are nearing the end of the school year, we are prepping for 2018-2019. The district reviewed, clarified and simplified the mathematics pathway chart during a comprehensive and systematic review process several years ago; narrowed the range of student readiness levels in the mathematics classrooms, and considered the most appropriate and available data points for making mathematics course placement recommendations.
A letter went home the week of May 18 providing parents with a brief summary of the recommendation process for students entering grades 3-8 and a mathematics course recommendation for their child for the 2018-2019 school year. Through this recommendation, we want to ensure that we are providing a learning environment with a level of challenge that is just out of your child's reach.
Parents were able to gain more understanding of Pine-Richland's mathematics program during a detailed presentation from on Thursday, May 24, 2018, in the Richland Elementary School Auditorium. Administrators and teachers were available to explain each component of mathematics pathways and to speak to individual families.
If you missed the program, you can download the presentation.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our mathematics program. We hope to see you at the upcoming presentation.
