Baseball Team Rolls Forward in PIAAs
The Pine-Richland High School Varsity Baseball Team is rolling forward in the PIAA Playoffs.
The team beat Manheim on June 3, 2019, 7-1, at Greater Latrobe.
The team will take on North Allegheny on June 6, 2019, at 4 p.m. at the LaRoche College Baierl Athletic Complex, 9000 Babcock Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. in the PIAA quarterfinals. Please note this is a new time and location.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students (grades K-12).
PRHS Baseball earned the WPIAL Championship Title on May 30, 2019, at the Wild Things Baseball Park. They took on Penn Trafford and beat them 7-2. The team earned titles in 2017, 2010, 2006, 2005 and 2004 and were WPIAL runners-up in 2009.
Earlier this season the team hosted a Best Buddies Day.
"Our players and our parents very much look forward to Best Buddies day at the ballpark every season," said senior Alec Swartout. "It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate an amazing and inclusive culture that exists in the PR schools and community."
Through the Best Buddies program, students from the life-skills education program have opportunities to participate in sporting events, dances and other events. Some lasting bonds are formed.
The team invited Pine-Richland students and families to Ram Fan Appreciation Day game on Thurs., April 25, at 4 p.m., at the PRHS Baseball Field. Fans were treated to free food and refreshments.
