Two Pine-Richland High School students are helping others in need during the pandemic. Sophomores Stella and Mary Fannie are conducting a door-to-door diaper drive in their neighborhood and an adjacent neighborhood with the option to drop off diapers at our house or donating directly to a GoFundMe account to help the Western PA Diaper Bank.
“Our interest was sparked when we realized that people in our community are struggling due the pandemic and may not be able to afford essential items,” said Mary and Stella. “We chose the Western PA diaper bank because diapers are a necessity for babies,” said Mary and Stella. “During this pandemic, more families are struggling financially. We wanted to find a way to help the Greater Pittsburgh community. The food banks are doing a great job, but we wanted to find a way to contribute other than a food donation.”
The duo is accepting donations through May 24, 2020.
