PR to Host PRHS Class of 2020 Recognition Ceremonies

Be sure to tune into several televised events via the web and cable this week to honor the Pine-Richland High School Class of 2020. Family members from across the globe and down the street will be able to participate in the following celebrations:

Senior Awards Night
Senior Awards Night will be a fully virtual ceremony. It will be aired on PRTV and streamed on the PRSD website on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. Armstrong Cable subscribers can view the program on digital cable channel 211. Consolidated Subscribers may watch via channel 404. All of the traditional program recognitions will be included - department awards, National Honor Society service, honor graduates, scholarship recipients, perfect SAT/ACT scores, National Merit Scholars, top ten percent, and the tertiary, salutatorian, and valedictorian.

Baccalaureate
Baccalaureate will be a fully virtual ceremony. It will be aired on PRTV and streamed on the PRSD website on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. Armstrong Cable subscribers can view the program on digital cable channel 211. Consolidated Subscribers may watch via channel 404. The program will include student speakers, a staff reflection, and a message from a local youth leader.

Graduation
The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 is also a virtual ceremony to be aired on PRTV and streamed on the PRSD website on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. Armstrong Cable subscribers can view the program on digital cable channel 211. Consolidated Subscribers may watch via channel 404.  This approach will ensure that graduation occurs as planned on June 5, 2020. Family members from around the world will be able to participate in honoring all of our graduates.

Additionally, in collaboration with our senior students, we have identified Friday, July 24, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. with a rain date of Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. as alternative face-to-face graduation dates. This ceremony would be similar to the traditional in-person event to help recognize students and provide an even deeper sense of celebration to this important milestone.

Throughout the summer weeks, we will continue to monitor county, state, and federal guidelines to determine what options may exist. We will keep students and families updated as information is available.
