PRTV CLUB: The next meeting for the PRTV Club will take place today after school in Mr. Koehler’s room, 328.
ART SHOW: You are invited to the opening exhibition of the annual high school art show. Please join them on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the STEAM addition as the visual arts department proudly presents work from their 9th through 12th grade students. If you can't make Wednesday's opening, the show will be open to the public again on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as well.
POLITICS CLUB: The Pine Richland Politics Club is having Pennsylvania State Speaker of the House and Pine Township Representative Mike Turzai come speak after school in the old LGI on May 4th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. All students are welcome, but we ask that you prepare one question to ask Mr. Turzai.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT: Applications are currently available for Student Government for the 2017-2018 school year. If you are interested in applying, please see Mrs. Adams in room 100 or Mrs. Brough in room 45 to pick up an application. If you are a current member of Student Government you need to re-apply. Also, if you are a current member, wishing to run for an officer position, a copy of you speech must be turned in to Mrs. Adams or Mrs. Brough by Monday, April 3rd. Applications are due back to Mrs. Adams or Mrs. Brough by Friday, March 31st no later than 2:30 p.m.
COMPUTER FAIR: Congratulations to Arjan Guglani, Justin Waltrip and Kevin Zhou who recently competed in the Regional Pennsylvania Computer Fair. The team of Justin and Kevin finished second place while Arjan finished in first place. Arjan will be attending the Pennsylvania State Finals at Dickenson College on May 22nd and 23rd.
COLOR RUN: Tickets will be sold during all lunch periods from April 3rd through the 7th. The tickets are $20 each. Cash or check will be accepted. Students will need a signed permission form to purchase tickets. Permission forms will be sent to school emails. The run will be held on Sunday, May 7th.
CREEK CLEAN UP: Richland Township is holding a creek cleanup day on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd. This is a great opportunity for any student environmental clubs, civic groups, outdoor clubs, or sport groups, or if there are students looking to get community service hours. Cleanup will begin at 9:00 a.m. Participants are to meet in the Richland Center parking lot.
MINI-THON: Ticket sales for the 2017 Mini-Thon are on sale today during all lunch periods. Ticket prices have increased to $20 and will be sold today through Friday of this week. This includes a t-shirt. The date of the dance is April 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Doors will close at 6:00 p.m.
PROM: Attention all juniors and seniors, it is that time of year again, Prom ticket sales. Ticket sales are from April 4th through April 7th in the cafeteria during all lunch periods. On April 4th, only seniors may purchase tickets. Only tickets purchased during the week of April 4th will be guaranteed a seat on the charter buses. Any tickets purchased after April 7th are not guaranteed a seat on a charter bus and will have to ride a school bus to prom. The last date to purchase tickets is April 12th.
2017 DEAN’S AWARD: If you are junior or senior considering a major in communications or media at Robert Morris University, please see Mr. Koehler in room 328. There is a $1,000 scholarship available, and applications are due at the end of this month.
FORENSICS: If you're interested in some fun this Friday, feel free to stop by room 106 after school for the final Forensics Fun Friday of the year. Everyone is welcome. And signups are available in room 106 for Saturday's freshman/sophomore tournament at Keystone Oaks. Signups will be available through Thursday morning during homeroom. See Mr. Byko for more information.

CHEERLEADING: Tryouts are being held the week of April 3rd for girls in grades 6 through 11 interested in being on the 2017-2018 cheer squad. Practice will be held from April 3rd through the 6th followed by tryouts on April 7th. All sessions will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the PRHS Green Gym.
FIELD HOCKEY: Girls in grades 8 through 11 interested in playing High School field hockey next fall and their parents are highly encouraged to attend the annual spring meeting on Tuesday April 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the PRHS Old LGI room by the library.
BASEBALL: Today the Varsity and JV teams will be in action. JV will be at Mars. The first pitch is at 3:45 p.m. Varsity will be at home against Keystone Oaks. The first pitch is at 4:00 p.m. at Pullman Park.
BOY’S BASKETBALL: Congratulations to the WPIAL Champions and PIAA State Runner-up PRHS Boys Basketball team. Thank you!
