A.W. BEATTIE: Support A.W. Beattie by attending their Fish Fry on Fridays through April 12th. Dine In and Take Out is available.
POLITICS CLUB: The Politics Club and Inspire U.S. are holding a Voter Registration drive this week, and they are calling on all seniors to get involved and register to vote. All you need is to be 18 years old and to bring a valid PA drivers' license or permit. Forms will be available in Mr. Devinney's room all week.
SCI-GIRLS: The Pine-Richland SciGirls is holding a special event on March 29th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the high school, called the SciGirls Speaker Series. Join them for a celebration of women in STEM from across the Pittsburgh area, from fields like computer science, medicine, and engineering. Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome. FORENSICS: Anyone interested in competing in the upcoming freshmen/sophomore forensics tournament to be held April 6th at Seton-LaSalle High School should sign up in room 106 and schedule practice time.
PEER 2 PEER: The main goal for the Peer 2 Peer Club is to multiply good in our PR Family. They recognize that many people do amazingly good things to positively impact our community on a daily basis. Please take a minute to nominate someone in the PR community you feel has made a difference in some way. These acts of kindness can be big or small! Nominations will be accepted through April 30th. The Students in Action Jefferson Award Winners will be announced at their annual color run on May 5th. Visit the High School Guidance Office for more information.
COLOR RUN: Peer 2 Peer’s annual Color Run will be on Sunday, May 5th. Sign-ups will be held during all lunches through the 21st. Tickets are $15 per person.
PROM: Tickets for PROM will be on sale during all lunches from April 1st through the 5th.Prom is scheduled for May 11th. More information will be shared closer to the ticket sale dates.
PRTV CLUB: The next meeting of the PRTV club has been changed to Thursday, March 28th after school in room 328, Mr. Koehler’s room.
MINI-THON NEWS: Join the mini-thon and their special guest at the first Mr. Mini-Thon Competition on April 6th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Showcase your talent and interview with their special guest. It is $10 dollars to enter with all proceeds going to the mini-thon. Sign-ups will run from April 1st through April 5th.
MORE MINI-THON NEWS: Mini-THON shirts will be sold in lunch starting March 25th through April 3rd for $20 each. Your Mini-THON T-shirt is your ticket to the dance. Be sure to get yours early to ensure proper size and availability. Remember that the dance is on April 6th. They will be having a Tie Dye party after school on April 3rd. Sign up in lunch when you buy your shirt. Bring your shirt and create a unique design to show off at the dance. If you do not have time to Tie Dye, you can pay an extra $5:00 when you purchase your shirt at lunch, and they will dye it for you. In other Min-Thon news, promote the dance by joining in their very own Mini-Thon Spirit Week, April 1st through the 5th. Here is a list of the themes: ‘Merica Monday, Twin Tuesday, Woke Up Late Wednesday, Jersey Thursday, FTK Friday, wear a previous year's t-shirt or anything blue.
CLOTHING DRIVE: 9th-grade student government is running a clothing drive for the Esther School in Africa. The Esther School is a school for orphaned and malnourished children in Africa. Please support the children and donate new or gently used leggings and/or gym shorts sizes 7 to adult small. Boxes will be placed outside rooms 315, 321 and in the front lobby or the high school. Donations will be collected until April 12th.
DUQUESNE PHARMACY PROGRAM: A representative from Duquesne's Pharmacy will be here at PRHS on Tuesday, March 26th during period 3 to discuss different career paths in pharmacy and the different types of university pharmacy programs offered. If interested in attending this event, please sign up in the GATE room, 103 and get a permission form.
PROF: PROF Scholarship applications are due by April 8th. Scholarship descriptions and applications are available on our website: www.prof-fund.org/scholarships. If a recommendation is required, students are responsible for contacting a reference person, requesting that the online recommendation is completed, and confirming that the recommendation has been submitted prior to the due date. BOY’S VOLLEYBALL: Tomorrow the Varsity and JV teams will compete in a tournament hosted by Norwin. The games begin at 8:30 a.m. at Norwin Senior High School. In other Boys Volleyball news. ICE HOCKEY: Come cheer on the Varsity Ice Hockey team in the PA State Cup Championship, tomorrow, Saturday, March 23rd at 1:30 p.m. at RMU Island Sports Center. Tickets will be sold at the door. Cost is $10 adult, $5 student, 12 and under free.
BOY’S TENNIS: Today the JV team will take on South Fayette at home. The match starts at 3:30 p.m.
BASEBALL: Today the Varsity and JV teams will face Mount Lebanon. JV will be away, starting at 4:15 p.m. Varsity will be at home at Pullman Park, starting at 8:00 p.m.
SOFTBALL: Today the Varsity and JV teams will be at Ambridge. Varsity will play first at 4:15 p.m. followed by the JV game.
BOY’S LACROSSE: Tonight the Varsity and JV teams will take on Mars at home. JV plays at 5:45 p.m. followed by the Varsity game at 8:00 p.m. Both games will be played at PR Stadium.
