Programs/Presentations

The University of Pittsburgh has announced its annual Women in Engineering Day. Interested students should check their school district email for information and a link to registration. Deadline: February 22, 2019

Girls Interested in Medicine & Engineering Careers: Girls in grades 10-12, who are interested in medicine and engineering careers are encouraged to apply for an upcoming Perry Outreach Program, which will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. The Perry Outreach Program is a free, one-day, hands-on experience for high school women who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine and engineering. Students will hear from women leaders in these fields and try it for themselves by performing mock surgeries and biomechanics experiments. Waynesburg University is offering a Sports Announcing and Sports Journalism Camp. Students can access information through their Naviance accounts. Deadline: April 26, 2019 or until all spaces are filled.

Waynesburg University is inviting students to participate in their Mock Trial Crime Scene Workshop held on March 16, 2019. Waynesburg University is also offering a CSI Summer Camp to be held in June. Interested students are encouraged to check their Home Page in Naviance for additional information. Registration is required for both programs.

The Builders Guild of Western PA will be hosting a skilled trades career fair at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on Friday, March 29, 2019. Interested students should contact Mrs. Whalen in the Guidance Office.

Summer Discovery is a pre-college enrichment program for high school and middle school students that combine academics with fun, activities, and sports. Courses are taught by university faculty. Students experience college life while developing social skills. Click here to access additional information and an application.

Gettysburg College is offering multiple summer academic camps. Interested students should check their school email or Naviance accounts for additional information.

The Engineering Summer Academy at Penn (ESAP) welcomes highly motivated and talented students to explore Engineering at the college level.  This program is open to rising 10th-12th graders. Additional information, including applications can be found on their website.  

The Alcoa Foundation is partnering with NatureBridge – a trusted nonprofit organization that provides hands-on environmental field science education for teens in national parks – to send 55 16-18 year olds from Alcoa communities around the globe to experience Yosemite National Park in California or Shenandoah National Park in Virginia for two weeks this summer. Deadline: March 4, 2019

PROF Scholarship Application Window Opens Monday, March 4
Scholarship Applications for graduating seniors will be available online beginning Monday, March 4. The Pine-Richland Opportunities Fund is offering 20 unique scholarships, totaling approximately $46,500, thanks to the generosity of community members and organizations. The application deadline for all PROF scholarships is Monday, April 8. See descriptions of our 2019 scholarships.
 
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices has launched its inaugural Trade School and College Scholarship program called Dream...Innovate...Grow. Three renewable scholarships valued up to $4,000 ($1,000 per academic year) will be awarded to three qualified individuals. Applications are available in Guidance or Naviance. Deadline: March 1, 2019

The Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundation has announced six $1,500 scholarships to those candidate chosen by the scholarship committee. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: March 15, 2019
 
SAE International is offering multiple scholarship opportunities for students planning to major in engineering. Applications are available on their website. Deadline: March 15, 2019 
 
The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation has announced its scholarship program, Tzu Chi Scholars 2019. Applications are available in Guidance. Deadline: March 16, 2019
 
The Epilepsy Foundation of Western Pennsylvania has announced one $2,500, one $1,500 and six $1,000 scholarships for students that have epilepsy or a seizure disorder. Students must meet the minimum requirements. Interested seniors should see Mrs Whalen in the Guidance Office. Deadline: March 16, 2019 
 
Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber Educational Foundation is offering seniors (5) Educational Scholarships worth $1,000 each for students who are college bound and (10) $500 Trade Scholarships for students entering the trades. Essay Topic: "What life expediences have led you to choose your educational path and ultimate career goal, and how will this enable you to contribute to your community?" Please stop in the Guidance Office for an application. Deadline: March 18, 2019
 
S&T Bank is offering a $2,500 Student Scholarship for students that have an account and meet the scholarship criteria. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: March 31, 2019
 
Clearview Federal Credit Union has announced the 2019 Ralph B. Canterbury Scholarship. Ten scholarships are available to members. No cost to open an account. Applications are available at clearviewfcu.org/scholarships Deadline: March 31, 2019
 
The Miracle League of Southwestern PA is offering one scholarship to a graduating senior who has been involved in the Miracle League. Application information is available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: April 2019.
 
The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh is offering a $1,000.00 scholarship to a senior enrolled and accepted to study astronomy, physics or math. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline April 1, 2019
 
The Pittsburgh Italian Scholarship Fund is now available for seniors. Application information is available in Naviance. Deadline: April 5, 2019
 
North Hills Ebony Women have announced the Norma Jean Ware Duncan Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a minority student who has been accepted and plans to enroll in college for the fall of 2019. Additional criteria and a link to the website is available in Naviance. Deadline: April 15, 2019
 
The Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation has announced the 2019 Landmarks Scholarship Award. This scholarship is awarded to at least one student in Allegheny County who is interested in the history, architecture, and landscape design in the Pittsburgh region. Application information is available in Naviance. Deadline: April 17, 2019
 
Bon Tool has announced the Carl A. Bongiovanni Scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide a student with funding for continuing their education in the building / construction trades at a post-secondary institution. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: April 26, 2019
 
Applications are now available in the Guidance Office for the Jamie Ellenberger Scholarship Program. Scholarship award is $10,000. Any senior planning to attend an accredited two or four- year post-high school education program is eligible to apply. Deadline: April 26, 2019
 
Edgar Snyder Words To Be Heard Scholarship Contest is open to seniors who create a presentation on the dangers of distracted driving. Interested seniors should check their school district email for additional information. Deadline: April 26, 2019
 
Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation is accepting applications from January 1 until April 30, 2019, for the annual scholarship program. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
 
PONY Baseball and Softball is proud to announce an Alumni Scholarship for graduates of PONY. In order to be considered for a scholarship a PONY baseball or girl's softball player must participate in a least two (2) years in a registered PONY program.  Click here to access the scholarship. The Allegheny County Fire Training Academy is offering a scholarship to students who plan on attending the Fire Academy Training Program offered at CCAC. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: May 15, 2019 
 
The II-VI Scholarship foundation has announced scholarships for current seniors and college level students entering the fields of math, science and engineering. All applicants need to fulfill a 360 hour experience outside of academia. Current high school seniors have until August 31st to do so. Additional information and applications are available here.
