Junior Earns Engineering Opportunities

Student Pine-Richland High School Junior Sedona Rocher is fresh off presenting at the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) monthly luncheon. On Dec. 4, 2018, she made a presentation on her experience at the Georgia Tech Exploring Engineering Camp.
Sedona received a full scholarship from SAME to attend the Exploring Engineering Camp on the campus of Georgia Tech this past summer.  SAME gives several scholarships every year to students to go to various camps including US Marine Corps Camp, US Army Camp, US Air Force Academy Camp and US Coast Guard Camp.  These are all STEM/Engineering and Construction Camps. Student
As part of the program,  Sedona went to Atlanta for a week and had an inside look at many businesses including The Weather Channel, Mercedes Benz Stadium, Novella, Delta and Georgia Power.  
At the luncheon, she met board members and others who serve in the engineering profession.
