Third Quarter Email for PRHS Families

Musical Collage
PRHS Parents and Guardians,
It is amazing that we are now in the fourth quarter of the school year! While there is always excitement around the many events at the high school, this time of year is certainly the busiest and most exciting! P-R PRIDEcontinues to be our focus.
Congratulations to our Musical cast, crew and orchestra! Guys and Dolls was an incredible show! The scheduling process for the 2019-2020 school year is wrapping-up for our students in grades 8, 9, 10 and 11, and our seniors are preparing for one of life’s great milestones, high school GRADUATION on June 7th!
We anticipate the exciting learning opportunities and celebrations of our students over the last nine weeks of 2018-2019. Please be sure to mark your calendar for spring events including the PRHS Art Show, opening on Friday, April 26th. We are also anticipating personal growth from our students as they engage in a number of state-level competitions including the Technology Student Association and Future Business Leaders of America. Our PRHS Hockey Team earned the Penguins Cup Championship! PRHS students continue to explore and engage in diverse opportunities in and beyond our classrooms.
The PRHS staff welcomes Mr. TJ Salopek to our administration team as our newest assistant principal. Students have already had the opportunity to meet and get to know Mr. Salopek as he has visited with them at lunch and in classes.
As our scheduling process concludes for the 2018-2019 school year continues, please note at this time, all students should have returned their verification form, which was due Friday, March 22nd. Students and parents were asked to only verify that the courses showing match their original course request form. Please note no changes will be made unless a mechanical error has been identified. We appreciate the support of our parents/families in guiding our students through the scheduling process!
The month of May tends to be very busy and this year is no different. Dates for Advanced Placement, Keystones and final exams were shared with our juniors and seniors and will be shared with students in grades 9 and 10 as well. Parents will be notified of student enrollment in Keystone exams during the second week of April. We encourage families to ask your child toshare and review the dates. Please encourage your student to be well-prepared and well-rested for these exams. Specific information about Prom 2019 can be found our the high school website. We will also be sending information regarding graduation to our seniors and their families soon.
A student's high school years are filled with opportunities for them to identify areas of strength, become and remain actively involved in clubs, activities, and sports, and seek opportunities for growth. Our staff is here to work with parents and students as we prepare them for college and careers.
We are looking forward to an exciting and active fourth nine weeks! You can view a list of contacts for parents and students via this resource link.
Thank you for your continued support of our school.
