Field Hockey Athlete selected to Rise Selection Camp

USA Field HockeyUpcoming senior Rylie Wollerton was invited to attend the Rise Selection Camp, which is part of the USA Field Hockey Olympic development program.

This invitation came after Rylie participated in the Nexus Championships for field hockey, which was also hosted by USA Field Hockey. This selective championship was held at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center in Virginia Beach, VA. During her time there, Rylie had the opportunity to work with professional coaches to improve upon field hockey skills at the high school, collegiate, and Olympic levels. Rylie was then selected to play in the Stars and Stripes elite game as part of USA Field Hockey. This elite all-star game featured the top athletes from around the country after their performances throughout the event by the USA Field Hockey Nexus Championship. rylieAfter her participation in the Stars and Stripes game and the Nexus Championship, Rylie was then invited to the 2022 Rise Selection Camp. This elite development camp is for high school students aged 16 and older. Only 55 athletes from all across the country are invited to this prestigious camp to train for future events hosted by USA Field Hockey.

During Rylie's junior year on the 2020-2021 PR Varstiy Field Hockey team, Rylie was named a Play Safe/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) High School Player of the Month in September 2020. She was recognized for collecting 44 points on 19 goals and six assists in one month to earn the distinction of September’s High School Player of the Month. She was also named the Post Gazette Player of the Year and competed at the AAA First Team All State championship.

Rylie will be returning to PRHS in the fall to complete her senior year. After that, Rylie is already committed to play field hockey at the University of Louisville.
