Boys Basketball Earn Section Title; Senior Dan Petcash Attains 1,000 High School Career Points
There will be no co-champions for the 6A section title this Boys Basketball season. The Pine-Richland Boys Basketball Team made certain of that with a victory over North Hills last Friday night. The Rams traveled to North Hills for the section match and registered a victory with a final score of 85 - 64.
With the section win the Rams secured their claim to the title of Section Champs! Prior to the game senior Dan Petcash was 12 points shy of attaining 1,000 points for his career. He made sure that he would join the prestigious 1,000 point club by pouring in a game high 25 points.
Patrick Shanahan had a solid game scoring 15 points, Kyle Polce had 14 points, Levi Wentz had 13 points and Greg Shulkosky had 11 point all contributing to a balanced attack by the Rams. With the victory the Rams improve their season record to 17 - 2.
The Rams return to action this Tuesday, February 5, 2019, hosting their final section game against the Central Catholic Vikings. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
