Message from Superintendent

Greetings to Pine-Richland Students, Parents and Community,

Welcome back to each and every Pine-Richland student and family! There is energy and excitement on the first day of school as we begin to set the routines of the new year. We hope that summer provided an opportunity to rest, explore new experiences and have fun. We have had so many of our students return to visit the building, find classrooms and walk schedules. Band camp was a huge success for 250 high school students. Fall sports are already in full swing.

From a broad perspective, there are two spotlight areas of focus for 2018 – 2019. The first focus is a Spotlight on 60. We are celebratin60th Ram g the history of Pine-Richland School District and celebrating the 60th anniversary. Key members of our staff have created an incredible 11-minute video that shares that history and follows changes in population over that time. In addition to the Annual Report that was distributed to families and the community in the last couple weeks, this video captures the Pine-Richland culture and celebrates the diverse opportunities available to our students. The image to the right reflects our 60th anniversary with the embedded “Ram.”

The second area of focus is a Spotlight on Excellence. As a district, we are committed to the concept of continuous improvement. We are identifying current best practices and sharing those examples across our buildings and staff. By shining a light on excellent work, we are able to increase awareness and replicate those practices in multiple settings. One of the key initiatives of the year relates to the development of the PRSD Strategic Plan for 2019 – 2023. There will be multiple opportunities for engagement and participation in this process. We encourage – in person or electronically – input and engagement in setting direction for the future.
