Greetings to Pine-Richland Students, Parents & the Community,
As we transition into the second half of the year, it is remarkable to see the depth and breadth of activities and programs across the district. In this update, we will shine a Spotlight on Excellence towards several activities in our schools. At Eden Hall, the “One Book. One School.” program was launched last week. Each student and staff member is reading Save Me a Seat by Sarah Weeks and Gita Varadarajan. The book provides the entire school with the opportunity to reflect on friendship, culture, and decision-making. At Hance and Richland, staff members worked to create a kinesthetic movement course and sensory room respectively. The hallway course at Hance provides an opportunity for students to engage in brain breaks or as an outlet to calm down when needed. At Richland, the sensory room is filled with a variety of activities individually developed and prescribed based on the needs of the particular students. There are so many outstanding examples.
