The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now investigating 155 suspected cases of acute flaccid myelitis.
The CDC has confirmed 62 of those cases in 22 states.
Doctors at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh have treated three of them.
One of those patients is Bryson Ackermann, whose father is the basketball coach at Pine-Richland High School.
The football team showed support for Ackermann during Friday night's football game by wearing "Bryston Strong" decals on the back of their helmets.
A GoFundMe account for the Ackermann family has raised more than $58,000 to help the family with Bryson's fight against the rare disease.
