April 16, 2020
Greetings to Pine-Richland Students, Staff, Parents and Community,
We hope that you enjoyed a brief spring break and had the opportunity to rest and recharge. Our thoughts continue to be with families that may be personally connected to someone affected by COVID-19. We especially appreciate healthcare workers, first responders and other members of the community that are helping to care for people in our region.
On April 9th, Governor Wolf extended closure for all Pennsylvania schools through the end of the 2019 - 2020 school year. The scope of the pandemic and related impact on society is unprecedented. In these moments, our thoughts are with each of our 4,600 students and families. We think about our youngest learners and the importance of a strong foundation in early literacy skills. Our hearts and minds are with each student in the Class of 2020 and the impact of this situation on the final weeks of the senior year. As you will hear in the podcast, we are working with the high school administration, staff, and student leaders to plan a continuum of options for our graduation ceremony based on health/safety guidelines. Information will be shared directly with high school seniors and their families from Mrs. Bowman.
