Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff:
Pine-Richland School District reviewed two redistricting options at the planning meeting on October 5, 2020. Thomas & Williamson, LLC, and Davis Demographics utilized redistricting criteria to develop scenarios based upon the results of the demographic study, including 10-year enrollment projections for PRSD and the capacity and utilization of our facilities. The conclusion of that work yielded two scenarios for consideration.
To learn more about those scenarios, you can view the presentation or download a PDF presentation. These scenarios will be discussed more fully during a Pine-Richland Joint Student Services and Operational Services Meeting at 6 p.m. on October 19, 2020. In addition, parents/guardians are invited to a virtual town hall question/answer session on November 4, 202, regarding the scenarios. Additional information regarding the town hall will be provided following the dedicated committee meeting on October 19, 2020.
The scenarios are built upon data and utilize the criteria agreed upon in advance. Once a final scenario is selected and approved by the school board, the district will then initiate the transition phase of work.
The ultimate goal is to optimize the delivery of our instructional programming in an equitable manner across our K-3 schools to allow us to focus on learning for every student, every day.
With Gratitude & Respect,
Kristen M. Justus, Ph.D.
