Graduate Making His Mark Academically & Athletically

Graduate The Pittsburgh Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is honoring a 2014 Pine-Richland High School graduate with the 2015 SPE Scholarship. Sponsored by the Pittsburgh Chapter of the SPE, this annual award of $2,500 is offered to undergraduate students in Petroleum Engineering that exemplify excellence in leadership, scholarship and service.

SPE says Andrew Vislosky was selected because of his outstanding academic excellence, as well as having a successful engineering internship experience. Andrew was one of only a few accepted into several academic honor societies such as the National Academic Honor Society for Freshman. Andrew is attending Penn State pursuing a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

In addition, Andrew was ranked in the top three for total points as a freshman for Penn State University’s Inline Hockey Team.  Andrew was one of only two freshman, who made the inline hockey team at Penn State University's Main Campus in State College PA. Andrew was a four -year varsity letter-man on Pine-Richland's ice hockey team and a three-year varsity letter-man for PR's inline hockey program. He did this even while he took a year away from hockey to run with the cross-country team.
