Grad Earns National Nursing Award

Graduate Nurse Pine-Richland High School 2008 Graduate Christina Knapp Jockel earned two prestigious awards in May of 2017.  She earned the "Daisy award", a national award for excellence in Nursing.

The following week, she earned the "LeMoyne Award", the highest award a nurse can win in Pittsburgh.  She won the award for Nurse of the year at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.  A citywide celebration will occur in November of 2017.

Christina credits her high school teachers, her University of Kentucky professors and her co-workers for her success. She is an registered nurse, has   bachelor of science in nursing and is a critical care registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children's.
