Senior Named Prestigious Nordenberg Scholar
(Gibsonia, PA) Pine-Richland High School Senior Hannah Reiling is one of only 10 Nordenberg Scholars. The University of Pittsburgh awards select seniors with full tuition, three years of paid internships and tuition for study abroad opportunities.
This is the second year in a row that a Pine-Richland High School senior was chosen for this award.
“This is quite an honor,” said PR
Director of Collegiate Affairs Jean Whalen. “Not only will she receive
full-tuition, she will also be awarded summer study abroad opportunities and 3
years of paid internships! This is the second year in a row, one of our
students has been chosen for this award.”
Hannah, who was named a commended student in the National Merit program this year, is a member of the National Honor Society. In addition, she is vice president of the PRHS Key Club and president of the PRHS Interact Club. She also served on the leadership team of the mini-thon, which raises money for childhood cancer initiatives.
She plans to possibly study neuroscience at the University of Pitt.
“I’m really excited about the scholar program, which will be a chance for additional opportunities and to get to know other scholars,” said Hannah.
The Nordenberg Leadership Scholars Program commits itself to keeping talented youth in our rejoin after graduation and is designed to attract and reward the best and brightest student leaders from high schools in Pennsylvania who have demonstrated excellent leadership skills, innovative thinking, intellectual curiosity, and community involvement.
