Students Stuff Buses Full of Toys During Fundraiser
The Pine-Richland High School Student Government Association helped a local radio station beat its target goal for its annual “Stuff-A-Bus” program.
PR students stuffed more than five buses full of toys for the annual fundraiser helping 96.1 KISS FM fill a record 52 buses this year.
Students encouraged everyone from the primary buildings to the secondary buildings to donate toys, which benefits the Toys for Tots program. The project was an effort by all with the support from staff, students, parents and community members.
On December 3, 2015, students traveled to each school building to pick-up the toys. All in all, students filled five and a half buses with new toys. On December 4, 2015 the students traveled to Robinson to deliver them to 96.1 show hosts, who were ever so thankful of PR students.
The fundraiser has been a big success at Pine-Richland thanks to a community for more than six years.
Seniors Nicole DeIvernois, Megan Reimer and Haley Brunner took the lead on this year’s project. Nicole said it’s her favorite project to help with in the district.
three senior leaders did a phenomenal job at Pine-Richland,” said Sponsor
Brittany Pikur. “They put in much time and leadership.”
In addition to Ms. Pikur, teachers Elissa Mitchell and Lindsay Brough helped with the project.
Student Transportation of America, the district’s bus provider, generously donated the use of six buses.
