Students Collect Stuffed Animals For Police Calls
The Pine-Richland Middle School Student
Government Plush Rush (April 4-22) was a huge success.
“Our goal was to collect 50 new stuffed
animals, and we ended up collecting 154,” said Teacher Alexandra Batouyios.
All stuffed animals will be donated to both the City of Pittsburgh Police
Department and Northern Tier Regional Police Department.”
Officers will keep the stuffed animals
in their patrol cars, and when they respond to calls involving children, the
stuffed animals will be given out as a means of calming and comforting the
kids.
“The MS Student Gov kids did a great job promoting this event and donating towards it,” said. Mrs. Batouyios.
