District Honors Retirees
Pine-Richland School District honored two employees who are retiring in January of 2017. They include State Reporting Coordinator
Jan Schnaufer and Nurse Suzanne Leonberg, who both served the district for
nearly 21 years each. In addition to state reporting coordinator, Mrs.
Schnaufer has served in many roles through the years, which include serving as
a help desk and technology support services coordinator.
Colleagues say that
Mrs. Schnaufer’s keen attention to detail, determination to see projects to
completion and her loyalty to Pine-Richland will be missed.
Mrs. Leonberg had
the opportunity to begin her journey in the district as a school nurse at
Richland Elementary, then made her way to Eden Hall Upper Elementary as it
opened. She wrapped up her final two years as a high school nurse. Mrs.
Leonberg says she will cherish her experiences and the opportunity she had to
follow a generation of children from their first day of kindergarten through
high school graduation.

Those who know Mrs. Leonberg say she has been a great
mentor with student nurses and colleagues themselves and was instrumental in
organizing the “Girls on the Run” program at Eden Hall.
Both say they are
looking forward to spending more time with family during their retirement.
