Student Wrap Up High School Musical

Many schools are wrapping up the musical season and others still have productions in April.

Pine-Richland High School students staged an amazing production of the "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." This operetta musical, with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is based on a Biblical story about Joseph’s “coat of many colors” found in the Book of Genesis. Joseph, the favorite son of his father, is one of twelve brothers. The brothers become jealous when he receives a beautiful coat as a gift from his father. As his brothers become more resentful, Joseph is sold into slavery and the tale that follows is the adventure of a dreamer.

This year, Sarah McGraw Krushinski joined the Pine-Richland High School Spring Musical team this year as director of the production.

n that features more than 50 students and an all-student orchestra and all-student stage crew.  Senior Jake Pedersen played the role of Joseph.

The production featured tons of singing, dancing and moving lights that bring color to the stage.

The whole show consisted of song, so there was no dialogue, which required lots of energy.

Once the musicals have wrapped up in the Pittsburgh-area, attention will be focused on the 27th Annual Gene Kelly Awards.
