PR Ultimate Frisbee Earns 2nd in State

Frisbee The Pine-Richland Ultimate Frisbee Team earned second place in the PA State Championships. The team is currently ranked 19th in the nation by Ultiword.com.

Ultimate Frisbee at Pine Richland is a club sport run by students and participates in the Pittsburgh High School Ultimate League.
The team had an awesome season. For the 2016-2017 season, they accomplished the following:
*Pittsburgh/Western PA Winter League champs
*Pittsburgh/Western PA Spring League champs
*2nd place PA State Championship (of 16 qualifying teams from around the state)
*National ranking of 19 (as of May 18, 2017 per Ultiworld.com)
Leading up to the finals, they won their first 5 matches in the state tournament 13-2, 13-4, 13-6, 15-8, and 11-9 before ultimately losing to Radnor, also a nationally ranked team and the top seed in PA.  This was the first time that Pine Richland ever made it to the finals in the PA state tournament.  The team was lead this year by team captains senior Casey Mann and junior Aiden Landis.  They are coached by Marcus Ranii-Dropcho and Mark Fedorenko.
