The goal of the day was to provide students with an opportunity to investigate many different types of literacy and gain a better understanding of how literacy impacts their lives. Special guest presenters spoke about writing, news media, forensic science, communications, meteorology and much more.

Specifically, local author Dana Faletti talked about her young adult trilogy and her background as a writer. In addition,Senior Vice President of Gateway Analytical David Exline presented to a sixth grade class.  In his presentation, Mr. Exline talked about his experiences working in forensic science and had the students apply what they learned in his presentation in a group activity.
