Teams Advance to WPIALs, PIAAs & Player Breaks School Record
Baseball: The Pine-Richland High School Varsity Baseball Team participated in the first round of the PIAA 6A Varsity Baseball Playoffs losing to Penn Manor. The team earned the WPIAL Championship game by defeating North Allegheny High School on June 1, 2017.
Lacrosse: The Pine-Richland High School Girls Lacrosse Team took on the previously undefeated Fox Chapel 12-11 at Robert Morris University on May 25, 2017 earning the team's first WPIAL title. The girls advanced to the PIAA state playoffs on May 30, 2017. The team took on Manheim Township losing 16-9. On May 8, 2017, Junior Marina Miller broke a school record by scoring her 201st career goal just three minutes into the game against North Hills. Marina is being named an All-American Player. Coach Brittany Adams is earning US Lacrosse Coach of the year. The boy’s team played in round two of the WPIALs on May 18, 2017 at PRHS Stadium narrowly losing to Peters Township 11-10.
Tennis: In addition, seniors Benjamin Vinarski & Siddhanth Iyer took the win in the Class 3A Boys Tennis Doubles Section Championship and finished third in the WPIAL Doubles Tournament.
Golf: Sophomore Lauren Freyvogel won the Women’s Health Classic Junior Challenge on the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour at The Links at Stoney Point in Greenwood, SC. on April 1, 2017. The win earned her a spot on the LPGA Symetra Tour Women’s Health Classic May 11-14, 2017 also being held at Stoney Point. Visit this link for additional information and pictures.

Track: Pine-Richland High School took 11 Athletes to the PIAA meet on May 26-27, 2017. Senior Amanda Kalin finished the 800 Meter Run in fourth place earning Pine-Richland the seventh PIAA medal the last four seasons. Coach Bill Crummy says that her time set a Pine-Richland school record but is was also the fastest time every recorded by a WPIAL AAA girl in that event. Click here for additional details.
