District Welcomes New Members of Team

The district welcomed two members to the Pine-Richland School District team. 
 
Central Office 

New administrator Payroll and employee benefits administrator Lauren Chappell began working in the Pine-Richland School District in September of 2016.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Business Management and a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Studies from Robert Morris University. 

Prior to Pine-Richland, Mrs. Chappell served as an assistant business manager for two years in the Wilmington Area School District (WASD).  While at WASD, she facilitated payroll and managed healthcare and retirement benefits. In addition, she prepared monthly state retirement reports and assisted with the preparation of the annual operating budget.

Mrs. Chappell also worked for the Blackhawk School District for four years as a secretary of public relations and instruction. She gained valuable experience in many areas including analyzing test scores, submitting Pennsylvania Informational Management System reports to the Pennsylvania Department of Education and providing quarterly construction project updates.

 

Eden Hall Upper Elementary School
 
New asst. principal The Pine-Richland School District welcomed new administrator to its team this school year. Mrs. Greta Kuzilla is serving as assistant principal at Eden Hall Upper Elementary School. She joined PR from the Hempfield Area School District, where she served as the response to intervention coordinator at Maxwell Elementary School. Additionally, she helped lead and organize an intervention team at the district level and served as a principal intern at the elementary and high school level at Hempfield Area.
 
Prior, she worked for the Ligonier Valley School District as a second grade teacher and a middle school science teacher. She began her career at St. Joseph Catholic School in Coraopolis, PA as a science teacher for kindergarten through eighth grade.
 
"We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Kuzilla to Pine-Richland School District and Eden Hall Upper Elementary," said Dr. Brian Miller, superintendent. "She brings a variety of experiences to this role and a deep knowledge of instructional interventions to help all students learn and grow. Her passion for education and significant work ethic were evident throughout the interview process."
 
While at Hempfield Area, she served as an English Language Arts Committee member to develop, implement and coordinate a comprehensive Reading and Language Arts Program from kindergarten through fifth grade.  She also served as the head coach for Girls on the Run program, which inspires girls to be confident through experienced-based curriculum while integrating wellness and running.
 
"I am extremely happy to be joining the Pine-Richland administrative team," said Mrs. Kuzilla.  "Throughout the interview process, I was able to learn more about the forward-thinking nature of the district as well as the dedication and teamwork that Pine-Richland exudes to create a student-centered learning environment.  I look forward to working with the students, parents, teachers, administrators and other stakeholders to assist Pine-Richland in making strides toward its mission and vision."
 
She earned a Master of Education of Exceptional Persons from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), where she also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She is certified in many areas including Special Education and English as a Second Language. She completed her Principal certification (K-12) from IUP and her Supervisor of Special Education certification from Slippery Rock University.
