Two PRHS Students Commended for Help in Flash Flooding

Two PRHS Football players are credited with some quick thinking.

Flash flooding on Washington Boulevard took the lives of three and caused other people to flee their cars on Friday, August 19, 2011.

Another family headed to Kennywood for Pine-Richland Day on Friday also got stuck in the flooding on Washington Boulevard.

Barbara Troutman says her son, Leroy Troutman and his friend Nick Berus, both PR football players, jumped to action and helped her to safety and helped rescue mom’s two-year-old from the car.

PR is proud of the quick thinking of the students, who helped averted additional tragedy.
