Robotics Students Take Part in Competition

 

On Friday, May 30, 2014, Pine-Richland robotic students battled it out against competitor from four other schools in the fourth annual Combat Bots Competition.

The students spent 14 weeks designing, engineering, and manufacturing their robots, which could not weigh more than four pounds.  Along with Pine-Richland students, South Fayette, Springdale, Fox Chapel, and Seneca Valley students also competed.

The top three finishing robots were all designed by Pine-Richland teams.

First Place - Christian Russell, Christian Rosenberg, Alec Buss, and Sean Carroll

Second Place - Mark Schantz, Keegan Harris, and Joe English

Third Place - Isaac Engle, Mike Coholich, Garima Gupta, and Aditi Bokil

The competition was located in the STEAM wing of the high school and attracted a large crowd of students throughout the day.
