Goebel, who graduated from Pine-Richland High School in 2008, is being honored with the 2014 Top Women in Convenience Rising Star Award.  The award, which is presented by Convenience Store News, recognizes just 30 women nationwide for their innovation in implementing corporate initiatives, problem solving expertise, exceptional performance and active involvement in the communities where they live.

Convenience Store News is the leading national publication serving the convenience industry for over 39 years.  In their June 2014 issue, they explained why Goebel is being honored.

“Promoted twice in just two years at Giant Eagle Inc., Carly Goebel defines a Rising Star among the top women in convenience.”

In addition to her work for Giant Eagle Inc., Goebel also coaches youth girls’ field hockey, a sport that she played at Pine-Richland, serves as a risk management advisor to Alpha Phi International Fraternity at Carnegie Mellon University, and volunteers at St. Lucy’s Auxiliary for the Blind and the DePaul School for Hearing and Speech.  She also belongs to Giant Eagle’s Women’s Business Resource Group and Young Professional Organization.
